NARMDA was initiated by few social workers to work for the development of pro-poor people in the state of combined Bihar formed in the year of 1995 and registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, FCRA and 12A & 80G under IT Act registration. Land and water management being the core issue, it started its activities to initiate unique model of natural resource management through community participation at Garhwa district of then Bihar and further replicated in other districts of Bihar. At present, the organization has been working in Palamu, Godda, Ramgarh and Jamtara districts of Jharkhand and Bhagalpur and Arwal districts of Bihar. Apart from major collaboration with government department, Narmda has been working with DFID (PACS) at mahuadar block of Latehar District, Jharkhand with the support of ITDA. focus on livelihood enhancement through effective implementation of NREGA. NARMDA IS OPERATIONALIZED MOBILE HEALTH CARE UNIT IN HUSAINABAD AND PATAN BLOCK OF PALAMU DISHTRICTWITH THE SUPPORT OF STATE HEALT SOCIETY JHARKHAND SINCE MAY 2011.Model livelihood intervention in Arwal block of Bihar has been implemented under SDTT support, presently running old age home in sasaram with the help of department of social security and disability by government of bihar . Target intervention program for injective drug users (IDU) in rohtas and Aurangabad district of bihar under NACO and BSACS, patna since 2015.
